For more than half a century, Schaap Holland has played a key role in the potato chain, from seed potatoes to finished product. Located in the heart of Flevoland, in Biddinghuizen, we combine the rich agricultural tradition of the polder with innovative techniques to supply top quality potatoes to customers worldwide.
Originally founded by Ben Schaap as a small trading and sorting company, we have grown into a leading player with a complete production process.
We grow, select, pack, and process potatoes, with sustainability and efficiency at the core of our business. Our own potato varieties, such as Amora and Aromata, are carefully developed and grown by a network of committed growers.

For example, we have our own water treatment system, with which we have drastically reduced our water consumption and encourage reuse. On site, we have a large number of solar panels, which cover a significant portion of our energy needs with renewable energy. In addition, we have a zero-waste approach: we utilize 100% of our potatoes, even processing residual streams into high-quality products or raw materials. Our ongoing commitment to innovation is also visible in the development of sustainable potato varieties. These varieties not only deliver high quality, but are also more resistant to diseases and the changing climate. By being intensively involved in the cultivation of our own and other varieties, we can also optimize soil health.
With these steps, we contribute to a cleaner, more efficient and future-proof food chain, continuing to strive for a balance between economic growth and care for the environment.
