Driver (38 hours)

What will you do?

As a Truck Driver at Schaap Holland, you will ensure that our potatoes – directly from the field or via our location in Biddinghuizen – are delivered to our customers in a safe, neat, and efficient manner. You will mainly drive in the Netherlands, but also in Germany, Belgium, and northern France. You will transport loose potatoes from growers and (refrigerated) potato products in various types of packaging to customers and distribution centers. Your tasks will include:

  • The safe, damage-free, and orderly loading and unloading of cargo;
  • Checking the cargo, including quality control;
  • Counting containers and filling in the necessary freight and delivery notes;
  • Performing minor maintenance on the truck and reporting any defects;
  • You will work together with the (Assistant) Planner and the Transport Team Leader and will be in contact with suppliers and customers about deliveries and pickups.

What do we offer?

You will be working in a close-knit team of around 25 drivers. No two days are the same—one day you will be driving to growers, the next day you will be delivering fresh produce to our customers at home or abroad. We also offer:

  • A base salary between €2,600 and €3,200 gross per month (based on a full-time contract, 38 hours. Excluding allowances);
  • 38 hours full-time based on 4 working days and 1 day off per week, alternating weekly;
  • Pension accrual, Flexible spending account, Bicycle scheme, 8% vacation pay, 5 weeks of vacation leave per year (based on a full-time contract);
  • Free potato products;
  • One-year contract with the intention to convert to permanent employment.

Who are we looking for?

  • You have a Class C and E driver's license and Code 95;
  • Some technical knowledge of trucks and minor maintenance;
  • 1 to 5 years of experience as a driver is desirable;
  • You are willing to work in the evenings, including Saturdays and sometimes Sundays;
  • You live in (the vicinity of) Biddinghuizen;
  • Having an affinity with the agricultural sector is an advantage;
  • You are flexible, proactive, and reliable.
