Product Specialist (40 hours)
What will you do?
As a Product Specialist, you play an important role in developing and improving our potato variety portfolio. Together with your colleagues in the Seed Potato Department, you ensure that Schaap Holland has a strong and future-proof variety portfolio for both internal and external customers. In this versatile position, your tasks will include: Selecting and developing new seedlings in collaboration with growers and week companies;
- Setting up, supervising, and harvesting trial fields at home and abroad;
- Analyzing cultivation, yield, and quality data for potato varieties;
- Recording and reporting test results in systems such as AGRIO and EBRIDA;
- Supervising product testing and variety comparison trials;
- Preparing variety presentations and demonstrations for customers and trade shows.
You will work partly in the office, but you will also regularly visit trial fields, growers, or locations in the Netherlands and abroad. This means that no two days are the same and you will remain closely involved in the practical aspects of potato cultivation.

- Salary between €3,250 and €3,650 gross per month (based on a full-time contract, 40 hours), depending on knowledge and experience;
- Pension accrual, Elective budget, Bicycle scheme, 8% vacation pay, 5 weeks of vacation leave per year (based on a full-time contract);
- Free potato products;
- One-year contract with the intention to convert to permanent employment.
Who are we looking for?
- HBO (higher professional education) level of working and thinking. Preferably a degree with a specialization in Plant Cultivation or Breeding and a good knowledge of potato cultivation.
- Experience in data recording and analysis of trial field results;
- Good command of Dutch and English, and preferably also German or French;
- BE and T driver's license and valid pesticide application license (or willing to obtain one).
